Custom Water-Based Stain Finish in Del Mar

Here is a waterproofed balcony and walkway in Del Mar at the Polo Plaza. Our rep Scott Tischler used ALX and a custom Water-Based Stain finish to achieve this look.  The colors you see here are a mix of Sepia and Onyx and the whole area has a clean tile pattern with a light texture.

Encinitas garage

This garage floor had an old epoxy paint chip system that was in need of updating and repair. Project manager Todd Cook reground the floor to increase the concrete profile and added Safe Grip for skid resistance. This is a 100% Solids Thin Film Epoxy System in Tile Red which will hold up to wear and tear and be easily maintainable for years to come.

Eco Friendly floor in Rancho Santa Fe

Todd Cook's crew was able to grind, stain and seal this garage floor all in one day. The floor was stained with SC-35X Water-Based Stain in Sepia and Sahara and then sealed with SC-65 Water-Based polyurethane. This combination of products makes this an excellent example of an eco-friendly and durable solution for a light traffic residential garage.

Allergy friendly floor for family pet in Escondido

Project Manager Todd Cook had customers in Escondido with a dog that has allergies so they needed a floor that was easy to maintain and keep clean for their family pet. Todd's crew removed the existing tile and carpet to reveal a concrete substrate to work with. The floor was prepped and stained with a mix Light Brown and Brown Fast Stain and sealed with EC-11 and SC-66 Water-Based Polyurethane. This combination makes for a low VOC and eco friendly floor that will last and keep allergies to a minimum.

Custom Water-Based Stain on a deck in Bay Park

This well manicured house for sale in Bay Park needed a facelift to give the wraparound porch a finishing touch.  Project Manager Scott Tischler knew that waterproofing the area with our ALX system was best choice for the porch and that a custom Water-Based Stain had the perfect look that the realtor wanted.

Sweet garage floor in Olivehain

Most people tend to put an epoxy floor system down on their garage floor because it is east to keep clean and can handle vehicle traffic but when the right sealer is used you can choose from a variety of stains as well.  This customer wanted her ugly vinyl floor removed and loved the look of stained concrete. Gil knew just what to do, he cleaned up the existing concrete and stained with with our Water-Based Stain (Mahogany and Onyx) then sealed it with our ultra-tough EC-11 sealer.

Floor Solution for Mortuary

A San Diego mortuary needed an updated flooring option but didn't want carpet and terrazzo was too expensive for their budget.  The existing substrate is concrete with old carpet running the length of the hallway. The customer wanted an easy to maintain floor that they can mop and wax.

We matched their existing terrazzo with our Liquid Terrazzo and they were happy with the results.

Stain in a consulting firm

Nautilus Environmental, an environmental consulting firm, moved into a new facility here in San Diego and were in need of a tough but elegant floor for their new location. The designer we worked with on this job really liked the grind, stain, and seal look so both Fast Stain and Water-Based Stain were applied to the existing concrete throughout and sealed.

Fast Stain installation at new Stone Brew store in South Park

Stone Brew Co. opened a new store in South Park and we got our Fast Stain system on the floor! The store is a place you can fill your growlers with Stone's beers and buy bottles, kegs and merchandise. This building was a gym and had rubber tiling throughout. Todd Seaboch's crew had to pull up the tiling and prep the existing concrete below the tiles to get the substrate ready for the face lift. Fast Stain was applied directly to the concrete and the whole floor was sealed for a clean look. Be sure to stop by and check it out and don't forget your growler!

Welcome Todd!

We would like to welcome Todd Cook to our team of Project Managers! Todd was an installer here at Life Deck for the past year and has a fresh take on art and design. Todd will be serving North County including areas such as Vista and Escondido.
I received a B.A. from Humboldt State University with an emphasis in Studio Arts in 2008. I posses a strong background in design and composition and have had numerous gallery exhibitions in various mediums. In 2010, I began working for Life Deck Coating Installations as an installer. By working "hands-on" in copious installation projects, I've been able to gain vast knowledge and insight into a wide spectrum of processes and applications. This eclectic experience has helped yield me the necessary tools and traits for my current position as Project Manager. My intention is to create an open dialogue with new and existing clients regarding our services. It's my goal to find decorative and durable solutions for interior and exterior spaces. I passionately strive to offer integrity and the highest level of customer service for all my prospective and current clients. I look forward to facilitating your needs and exceeding all expectations.

U.S. University

Here we have an impressive 20,000 square foot Fast Stain job at U.S. University in Chula Vista. This look was accomplished by grinding, staining and sealing existing concrete. The use of several colors creates a dynamic flow throughout the facility and the water-based sealer is durable while maintaining a medium gloss finish.
